Holy Child Hr Sec School, Shillong was opened in February 1973. It is a girls school

The course of studies followed is that of the 10 + 2 year course conducted by the Education Board of Meghalaya.

The specific meaning attached to this institution 'Holy Child', is that is specially dedicated to the Holy Infant Mary, the Virgin Mother of Jesus Christ. Hence, the school day falls on 8th September, that is , the birthday of the Holy Child Mary.

The school session starts in February and ends in December with the following yearly vacations-Summer Vacation, Puja Vacation and Winter Vacation.
